Atomic London brought us in to produce a campaign for the National Employment Savings Trust (Nest), showing people where their pension money actually goes. Pensions are a heavily regulated, fairly functional topic, so Atomic’s creative turned them into reality-style comedy content that felt relatable, easy to understand and, above all, social first.
Atomic’s idea was a reality-style road trip hosted by Brendan Sheerin, and our job was to make it happen. We branded up a Nest coach, street cast real pairs of contestants (friends, partners and siblings, some with Nest pensions and some without) and headed to Leeds. Every stop was a business Nest actually invests in, from dodgeball at a leisure centre and crazy golf at a shopping centre to a Yorkshire pudding eating contest at a local pub.
Over two full-on days, drones, GoPros, body rigs and a lot of coach cams caught every unscripted moment, while we kept Brendan’s brand prompts on track so key messages like logging in and updating contact details still landed amid the chaos.
We came back with over 20 hours of unscripted footage. Rather than chopping it into dozens of tiny clips or one long, heavy film, we worked with Atomic in pre-production to land on three fast-paced episodes of 3 to 4 minutes each. Long enough to explain a complex topic, punchy enough to stop the scroll, and proof that a nimble core crew can deliver reality TV scale content made for social.
