OS Maps

Cinema Activation

In partnership with

Creative agency Walker had put together a brilliant activation for OS Maps, to run alongside the release of the acclaimed BBC film The Salt Path. A perfect pairing – the film’s celebration of nature aligned seamlessly with the brand’s mission to get more people of all ages outdoors. Walker had developed a compelling concept for a commercial to be shown ahead of the film in Odeon cinemas across the UK.

The challenge? We had just three weeks to bring it to life and get it cinema-ready. So we came on board to make sure the creative was delivered seamlessly from a production point of view.

The creative called for a blend of narrative footage, which we filmed, and curated clips sourced from outdoor creators across the UK. We had just one day to capture everything we needed. That meant a mix of advanced aerial filming and on-the-ground storytelling with our cast.

To keep things efficient, we split the team. One crew headed out by boat along the south coast, launching our drone systems to capture stunning aerial shots, while the other got set on location for the narrative scenes. Filming ran smoothly. We’d built out accurate pre-visualisation edits before the shoot, so the team knew exactly what to capture and how. No guesswork, just sharp focus and execution.

Within two weeks of filming, we had the commercial fully edited, colour graded, mixed in 5.1 for cinema, and approved by the CAA for distribution.
